“This feature is not the only love I have given the license plate system,” said Respawn developer RobotHavGunz, teasing the new change. “It’s a long request. But it only comes in season 9. ”
The developer teased a change for badges, but did not drop too much insight.
Some players quickly speculated what the tease might refer to. “To see what the group members’ badges are for mouse-ear, maybe?” asks one fan. “Show more badges on a banner?” another suggested.
Currently, only 3 badges can be displayed on your banner, which players find a bit restrictive. In the past, however, Respawn has said that adding more badges can be difficult as it can obstruct some of the banner frames / animations.
Another idea players had was to sort badges by category – i.e. ‘account’ badges for things like your level, ‘season’ badges for season specifics, combat for damage and kill badges, etc.
The developer dropped no further insight on what the change is going to be, and let the speculation hang. This will be a case of waiting and seeing, as season 9 is still quite far away.
The new season only starts in early May, as the season 8 battle pass ends on May 3rd.
