Apex Legends Season 8 introduces a new weapon – the 30-30 Repeater. It’s a lever action rifle that gives a ‘beating’, unlike any other weapon in the game so far. But will it be good?
Season 7 of Apex Legends has taken advantage of the trend by not adding a new weapon at all. This did not really bother anyone, as there was a whole new card to worry about, and the beloved R-99 was brought to the floor again.
But players knew there would be more weapons coming, after numerous sightings of unissued guns were noticed in dev streams, including this mystery 30-30 Repeater now confirmed.
We saw the gun for the first time in the season 6 stream while lying on the ground for a brief moment.

What is the 30-30 repeater in Apex Legends?
The new season 8 weapon is actually linked to history. The new Legend, Fuse, joins the games of the planet Salvo, and he brings the 30-30 Repeater along.
It is described as ‘the most popular weapon of Salvo’, and Fuse is seen as representing it in his promotional image. The 30-30 Repeater is a lever action rifle that ‘sets the opposition apart with hard hits’.

The gameplay of this new weapon was provided by YouTuber Dazs, who had to play season 8 and its new content early on by joining EA’s Game Changer network.
As shown in the video below, it looks like it has a relatively solid fire, especially if you consider it to be a lever rifle. Hopefully the damage will also be able to stand next to the other weapons in the game. Only time will tell, of course.
30-30 repeat ammunition type
It has now been confirmed that the 30-30 Repeater will indeed take Heavy Rounds, as suspected based on early teasers. The base clip size is 6 rounds, but it can be enlarged with extensive magazines, including the new Level 4 gold extended power, which offers an automatic reload feature.
- Basic ammunition: 6 rounds
- Level 1 extended power: 8 rounds
- Level 2 extended power: 10 rounds
- Level 3 extended power: 12 rounds
The reload speed of the weapon is quite slow as each round is loaded separately, so it is a good idea to reload well before you clip up.
30-30 repeater attachments
Although we will not know the entire range of attachments available for the 30-30 before Season 8 is fully released, we do have a good idea of all the compatible items from the early game available. The confirmed attachments so far are stocks, all four levels of extended mags, and various attractions such as the 1x, 2x, 3x and 2x-4x. You cannot equip a 4x-8x or 6x range.
The location of the meter that indicates your Charged Shot (see below) also changes depending on the face you are using; the loading bar will appear on the gun itself if you use an iron sight or a 1x range, and will be on the optical cigar if you use something more zoomed in, such as the 3x.
This inclusion of the 30-30 Repeater in the player’s inventory gives a look at the attachment slots.
30-30 Repeat Damage Statistics and Loaded Shot
One of the interesting aspects of the Repeater is that it has a charge shot, which is a round that can be loaded before being shot for greater damage. Here is the damage profile for the weapon with and without this loaded shot:
- No charge shot body: 42
- No loading head: 74
- Charge with full charge: 57
- Full charge shot head: 100
Of course, it depends on the situation whether you should use the Charged Shot or not. It’s probably better to avoid this if you’ve in shootouts for which you need to scatter your shots, and only use them if you can afford the gaps between each round.
In general, Dazs describes the 30-30 as right between the Longbow and G7 Scout: “The G7 has a faster rate of fire but less damage and the Longbow has a slower fire but more damage. The 30-30 is a perfect weapon to strike a blow between medium and long range shots. ”
30-30 Repeater Sheets
The weapon should start with more than 16 ordinary and rare skins, five Epic skins and three legendary skins. We already got a taste of one of the Legendary camos in the season 8 trailer, along with several other Legend and weapon skins.
This is probably one of the legendary skins that comes in the season 8 for the 30-30 repeater.
