After a 52-24 victory over Ohio State in the College Football Playoff National Championship, it is no surprise that Alabama has the 2020 season as the unanimous no. 1-team in the final AP Top 25 poll will not conclude. Which team that finished number 4 may be more surprised.

Texas A&M felt strongly that it should be in the playoffs this year. While the Aggies were transferred in favor of Notre Dame, they finished fourth in the AP top 25. If they won the Orange Bowl over North Carolina, Texas A&M (9-1), they finished with the highest finish of the season since 1939 when that team finished No. 1.

Although the Buckeyes lost Monday night to the Crimson Tide, they reached No. 2 on the final rankings. Clemson dropped one spot to No. 3, while the Fighting Irish rounded out the top five. Oklahoma, with seven consecutive wins to end the year, finished sixth. The rest of the top 10 reflects the outcome of the season with Georgia, Iowa State and Northwestern jumping to the top 10 after victories.

Three news teams reached the final rankings: No.20 Oklahoma State, No 23 Ball State and No 25 Buffalo.
