Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., rejected Senator Lindsey Graham’s call to “continue” Wednesday’s riots, arguing that the country needs more accountability first.
Graham, RS.C., criticized the pressure on President Trump for doing more harm than good.
“As president @realDonaldTrump said last night, it’s time to heal and move on, “he said. If Speaker Pelosi pleads guilty in the last days of the Trump presidency, it will do more harm than good. I am hopeful that President-elect Biden has done the damage as a result of such actions. ‘

Just before the congresswoman’s response, Graham tweeted that any transgressors should be punished.

“Tragic news that a US police officer in the Capitol was killed by domestic terrorists while bravely defending our country’s capital,” he wrote.
And in a subsequent tweet, he posted: “This officer gave his life to defend our country, and I hope and expect that the perpetrators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
As of Friday, Ocasio-Cortez, her so-called group of progressives, and a host of other Democrats have asked for Trump’s indictment and out of office. Some also asked for sense. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., Ted Cruz, R-Texas and other Republicans expelled from Congress for allegedly inciting the violence that took place.
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Promised on Friday that President Trump would be charged, and tweeted that “justice will be done”.
In the aftermath of the events Wednesday, several people were killed and dozens of police officers injured. Trump and White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany condemned the violence Thursday, but many blame the president’s statements on the election for the chaos that followed.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., asked the cabinet to remove Trump using powers granted to him in the 25th Amendment – something Graham said has that he is against it.

Although Trump has lost cabinet members and several advisers since the riots, it is unclear whether there is enough will within the government to remove him. Vice President Pence is apparently opposed to it.
To prosecute and remove Trump, Congress will have to act quickly because he will leave office in less than two weeks. A resolution by Representative David Cicilline, DR.I., is expected to be presented Monday.
