New York Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has criticized Republicans in Congress for complaining about the new House Metal Detectors, noting that at least one Republican had previously placed an image of themselves with a gun next to Democrats.
The metal detectors were installed on Tuesday after last Wednesday’s uprising by supporters of President Donald Trump at the Capitol. House Democrats said they no longer felt safe among their Republican colleagues with Trump after the uprising.

Laws prohibit lawmakers from carrying loaded firearms anywhere in the capital except in their office. No one except law enforcement officers may carry a gun, whether loaded or unloaded, in the Living Room.
In a Tuesday afternoon announcement, Acting House Sergeant Timothy Blodgett told members of the House that anyone entering the lower room would have to undergo additional screening measures and that it would be forbidden to enter if their selection was refused or found. that they carry a prohibited item, such as a gun.
Republicans, however, almost immediately began criticizing the metal detectors.
