Anti-Defamation League demands Tucker Carlson fired

The head of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has called on the Fox News host Tucker CarlsonArkansas Gov. Tucker Carlson silences GOP’s plunge into cultural wars GOP Governor clashes with Tucker Carlson over vetoing bill to block trans youth health care Trump denies Gaetz asked him to forgive more to be fired after a segment Thursday referring to the “replacement” theory.

“Tucker must go,” the group’s chief executive Jonathan Greenblatt tweeted on Friday.

The ADL chief explained that the “Great Replacement” theory is a white supremacist premise that the white race is endangered by an increasing tide of non-whites. ‘

Greenblatt was referring to Carlson’s appearance on “Fox News Primetime” when the host, in conversation with columnist Mark Steyn, presented a theory as to why Democrats are immigrants.

“I know that leftists and all the little gatekeepers on Twitter are literally hysterical when you use the term ‘replacement’ when you suggest that the Democratic Party is trying to replace the current voters,” Carlson said. “But they get hysterical because that’s actually what’s happening. Let’s just say that. It’s true.”

“I mean, everyone makes a racial issue out of it. Oh, you know, white replacement? No, no, it’s a question of voting rights, ‘Carlson later added, saying that changes to the population’ dilute the political power ‘of current registered voters.

Fox News declined to comment on Greenblatt’s tweet or the similarities between what Carlson said and the white white nationalist theories, except to point to the host’s comments emphasizing that this is a voting right issue. ‘

In addition to Greenblatt’s tweets, the ADL posted a letter Friday, sending an email to Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott regarding Carlson’s comments.

“Carlson’s complete embrace of the white theoretical replacement theory on yesterday’s performance and his repeated allusions to racist themes in recent segments is a bridge too far,” the group wrote. “Given his long record of racial slurs, we believe it’s time for Carlson to go.”

The group said it was the first time Carlson had been fired. The ADL said it had not yet received a response from Fox News.

This is not the first time Carlson has come under fire for his comments on the network. In 2019, he drew widespread criticism for claiming that the issue of white supremacy in the US was a ‘joke’.

Last year, one of the writers for his show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” quit after news broke that he had posted racist, big comments in an online forum with a pseudonym.
