Ant Anstead was in ‘a very dark place’ after his split from estranged wife Christina

Ant Anstead’s estranged wife, Christina, 37, announced their shocking split in September after less than two years of marriage.

And although he is currently ‘taking steps to heal’, the 41-year-old Wheeler Dealers host admitted to People that he was ‘sitting in a very dark place’ with a divorce.

He explained at the end that the recovery course and the retreat helped remind him that ‘no one controls me but me’ and that it’s up to me to empower myself and realize how amazing I am. ‘

Anstead also found the strength to open up and rely on his daughter Amelie (17) and son Archie (14), who live with their mother Louise in the UK. Ant was married from 2005 until their divorce in 2017.

Another person who was a great lifesaver for Ant was his 16-month-old son Hudson, whom he shares with his estranged wife, Christina.

He acknowledged that dealing with the divorce ‘without [Hudson] would have been incredibly difficult, ‘and added that the little one’ filled [his] heart ‘and’ really saved [him]. ‘

With the bond he had with Hudson, Ant dished out to People that they ‘enjoy going to the beach together, reading and going out and being active’.

“He and I have this wonderful relationship between us. We have this father-and-son band, and I’m telling you, he’s one of the coolest kids in the area, ” said the star, who spent the past Christmas with Hudson in Arizona.

Regarding what supervision for Ant and Christina will look like, the hostess of Flip Or Flop already applied for joint supervision in November, and according to Ant, they plan to ‘be friendly together’.

Although he was no longer romantic with Christina, Anstead said he hopes to “always have a relationship” with Christina’s two children, daughter Taylor (10) and son Brayden (five).
