Another Dash Announced for Nintendo Switch with New Game Systems

It no longer looks like Gougi Decks

Fighting EX Layer may have started as an ‘April Fool’s joke, but it has continued to evolve over the past few years with its next incarnation that the world now knows.

Arika announced during the Japan Fighting Game Publisher Roundtable that Fighting EX Layer: Another Dash will be coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year, which wants to remake many of the game’s core systems.

Gougi Decks are now completely away from the match experience and are now being replaced with a number of new EX moves / systems to give each character extra juice if they have meters.

EX-Dash, EX-Arrow and EX-Illusion are ways to give players more defensive and offensive options, but that’s not all that has changed. Stroke balance adjustments also occur with some characters / moves.

Some of these changes are very similar to what Arika showed earlier in the April Fool’s Day beta release, although no word from Another Dash is coming to other platforms at this time.

One thing that the new port will not contain at launch is the return net code received by the other versions, and instead used what they call backstep interrupt, which appears to hide the import delay in variable frames.

However, if all goes well, Arika hopes to combine the two forms of netcode together for the ‘best of both worlds’.

More information on Another Dash is coming on April 1st, because it’s natural. Maybe we’ll see more about the Prayer to Death game that also teased them last year.
