Another COVID-19 death, total occupancy of Brazos County ICU remains high

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Brazos County Health District reported 90 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Brazos County. There are currently 1,474 active cases.

In the past 24 hours, a new death has been reported, a man in the hospital who was in his 70s. There were 181 deaths in Brazos County related to COVID-19.

14,316 patients are classified as recovering, meaning they were fever-free for 72 hours without antipyretic medication, and that was ten days after the onset of symptoms.

42 percent of the newly confirmed cases come from the 18-24 age group.

There have been 3,305 probable cases in Brazos County since June 18, 2020. A probable case of COVID-19 is determined by a positive antigen test. Confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district conducts case investigations on all confirmed and probable cases.

There are currently 431 active probable cases and 2,874 probable cases have been recovered.

The total number of confirmed positive cases in the province since the start of the testing is 15,971. 165,493 tests were performed.

The total occupancy of the hospital bed in Brazos County is 88 percent and the total occupancy on the ICU is 129 percent.

Currently, 51 Brazos County residents have been hospitalized for COVID-19.

State Trauma Service Area N

Most of the Brazos Valley falls under areas for trauma services in State N (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington counties). Trauma Service Area N currently reports 636 hospital beds with 88 beds available. According to the latest state data, the region has 3 available ICU beds and 59 available fans. The state’s latest update contains 90 COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital.

Texas A&M University

The Texas A&M COVID-19 Dashboard reported 30 new cases and 480 active cases on Feb. 1.

Currently, the university reported 4,890 positive cases, 7.2 percent of the tests came back positive.

The last update of the dashboard was provided on 4 February 2021.

Statewide, Texas has an estimated 362,103 active cases and 2,015,866 recovery cases. 2 433 110 cases were reported and 20 497 505 total tests (both viral and antibody).

To date, 37,288 Texans have died from COVID-19.

Currently, 2,041,378 Texans have been vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 and 561,411 Texans have been completely vaccinated. 4,468,600 doses are shipped across Texas.

254 of 254 counties in the state of Texas are currently reporting cases. Harris County leads the state in total cases with 320,744 cases reported.
