Another 413 COVID-19 cases, nearly 28K more vaccinations were reported in Utah on Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY – The number of COVID-19 cases in Utah increased by 413 on Saturday, with no new deaths and 27,809 more vaccinations reported, according to the Utah Department of Health.

According to the Department of Health, the current average number of positive cases per day of seven days is now 394. The positive test rate per day for the period calculated using the “people over people” method is now 7.6%. The positive test rate per day for the period calculated using the “test over test” method is now 3.8%.

There are currently 140 COVID-19 patients in the Utah hospital, according to state data. A total of 1,880,269 doses of vaccine were administered in the state, compared to 1,852,460 on Friday.

The total number Saturday has 392,509 confirmed cases in Utah, with 15,901 total hospitalizations and 2,164 deaths due to the disease.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox delivered an update on the COVID-19 pandemic at a PBS news conference on Thursday.
