Anker’s MagSafe compatible battery lasts on March 3rd on your iPhone

Anchor has released a new MagSafe compatible battery pack that can connect directly to your iPhone for charging without the need for a cable, 9to5Google reports. The Anchor PowerCore Magnetic 5K Wireless Power Bank will launch on March 3 for $ 39.99, beating Apple’s own rumored MagSafe battery product on the market – with one big caveat.

The PowerCore Magnetic 5K Wireless Power Bank has a 5,000 mAh battery and Anker’s standard power bank design, including an LED indicator to let you know how much power is in the device. The device also has USB-C output for charging with a cable as well. An extra 5,000 mAh is a significant boost, especially for the smaller iPhone 12 mini, but it is limited by the lack of MagSafe certification of the device.

Certified devices, such as Apple’s own chargers, can charge the iPhone at 15W, while the PowerCore charges more slowly than 5W. The magnets may get stuck where other MagSafe accessories go, but the PowerCore does not offer the usual MagSafe benefits.

According to Apple, its own MagSafe battery accessory has been developed for iPhones, which is likely to deliver the 15W faster charging time. Apple’s device was originally referenced in the iOS 14.5 beta, but the reference has since been removed. Until the accessory is released (if it ever is), Anker’s new PowerCore looks like a solid option for more convenient wireless charging on the go.

The $ 39.99 PowerCore Magnetic 5K Wireless Power Bank was available to pre-order on Amazon, but has since been out of stock. The edge Anker released about the stock of the device before the launch on March 3 and will be updated if we want to know more.
