Animal Crossing: New Horizons new fish, bugs and marine animals to catch in January

With January’s arrival, Animal crossing: new horizons players will definitely find a different amount of fish, bugs and marine animals around their islands.

There’s no hurry to catch one of them, as most of them will last longer than a month, but make sure you donate any new find to Blathers to complete your museum. You can see when you caught a new creature because your character ‘Yes!’ before saying the name of the bug or fish.

You can also check in your Critterpedia whether you donated the bugs or not. If you have, a small owl icon will appear next to the critter’s name. (Note that these emblems will not appear if you are on someone else’s island.)

Unfortunately, the islands in the Northern Hemisphere do not get any new insects in January. You can see the list of Southern Hemisphere insects below. Keep in mind that some of these return to your island after being previously available, so if it looks familiar, you probably caught it during an earlier availability.
