Animal Crossing Build-A-Bear Collection stuffed animals coming soon

Nintendo and the Build-a-Bear company have collaborated on a series of Animal Crossing: New Horizons characters. The announcement is nice for now beer-bene, but the company promises more details are on the way. It remains to be seen if you can apply for a zero interest loan to take your favorite character home.

The announcement gives no indication of which animals will be featured, but promises to be ‘soon’ and redirects interested customers to a Build-a-Bear page where you can sign up for email alerts. Since there are nearly 400 villagers in New Horizons, it’s pretty safe that the collection will focus on especially popular or key characters like Tom Nook or Isabelle.

With Build-a-Bear stores, you can add fillings to a stuffed animal and pair it with optional garments. With the online store version, you can repeat the process online and have the stuffy delivered by mail. The company recently partnered with pop culture brands, such as when it announced a Baby Yoda doll modeled after The Mandalorian. Orders for the doll were opened a few months after the January 2020 announcement, but it went fast.

Meanwhile, Animal Crossing is switching to another iconic and cute brand, as the Sanrio update is available this month. And it was recently crossed with another Nintendo franchise featuring Mario items, just in time to celebrate Mario Day with an island decoration. Animal Crossing is also getting more seasonal items with an upcoming Shamrock Day celebration.
