The divorce saga of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has taken another turn. According to legal documents obtained by Our Weekly, Jolie claims that she has ‘evidence and authority to support’ her domestic abuse against her estranged husband. And she is ready to present the evidence during their upcoming divorce hearing.

The documentation, filed March 12, states that Jolie is willing to testify about the alleged abuse, as well as testimony given by her and Pitt’s six children: Maddox (19); Pax, 17; Zahara, 16; Silo, 14; and twins Knox and Vivienne (12). The documents do not contain any explanation of the alleged violence, but a source close to Pitt dismissed the allegations as another attempt to “hurt” the Oscar-winning actor.

“In the last four and a half years, a number of claims have been made by Angelina that have been reviewed and not substantiated,” the informant said. We. ‘Angelina has used the kids before to hurt Brad, and it’s more of that behavior. The leak of documents by her fourth or fifth set of lawyers was done to hurt Brad. ”

Jolie and Pitt went out shortly after filming the 2004s Mr and Mrs Smith. They tied the knot in 2014 and divorced two years later due to ‘irreconcilable differences’. Their divorce has yet to be finalized because they are locked in a confusing custody battle that also includes allegations of child abuse.

Shortly after the 2016 split, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Child and Family Services began investigating child abuse claims against Pitt. The agencies closed the investigation a few months later, removing Pitt from the abuse allegations.

Pitt spoke about the investigation during his 2017 appearance GQ cover story.

‘I was really on my back and was chained to a system when Child Services was called. And you know, after that we could work together to clear it up, ‘he said. “We both do our best. I heard one lawyer say, “Nobody wins in court – it’s just a matter of who gets worse.” And it seems to be true: you’re spending a year just building a case to prove your point and why you’re right and why they’re wrong, and that’s just an investment in poisoning. I do not refuse. And luckily my partner agrees with this. It is very, very frightening for the children to have their family suddenly torn apart. ”

Pitt apparently wants 50/50 custody of their minor children.
