Angela confirmed her engagement in August of that year and recalled the proposal: ‘We went out to eat and my daughter said she first wanted to show me the fort in the backyard that she and my little boy’s boys were working on.

‘She led me outside and there was a blanket by the pool and she said I should sit on it. His sons brought me flowers and then he came around the corner with a ring. ‘

Angela, who co-hosts the Office Ladies podcast with Jenna Fischer, added: ‘He called my mom and asked for her blessing … it would have made my dad so happy.
