The Warriors would have lost on the opening night against the Nets, even if Andrew Wiggins had a decent game. But they were knocked down insignificantly because Wiggins had a terrible game. He was a little better against the Bucks. But his journey changed when the worse competition emerged. So did the Warriors’ trip, with a 116-106 victory over the Pistons in Detroit, Tuesday night.

Their record: 2-2. It was always the expected result, even when a playoff game for the preseason felt more assured. The Lakers are 2-2. The Nuggets are 1-2. The Rockets are 0-2. The Warriors still have the league point difference in the league: minus 54 through four games. But it goes down a lot easier than reading the record. 500 and a small fleet of momentum sends them to a seven-game home strengthened by Draymond Green’s likely return.
