Andrew Sullivan has spoken out in the media for their coverage of the recent deadly shooting in Atlanta for telling a ‘story’ about the violence perpetrated by anti-Asian riots, despite the lack of evidence proving it was a hate crime .
Many of the mainstream media and the Democratic Party have condemned racism against Asian Americans after it was reported that six of the eight victims who died in a trio of massage parlors were of Asian descent, although an ongoing investigation has not yet identified racism as a motive.
In a piece published in his “Weekly Dish” move, Sullivan sounded the alarm about how “narratives” replaced the news with the “grotesquely distorted” coverage of the shooting in the media.

“The coverage of this story is proof, in my opinion, that American journalists have officially abandoned the habit of trying to use any ‘objectivity’ to report these stories,” Sullivan wrote. “We are now in the enlightened social justice world of ‘moral clarity’ and ‘narrative shaping’.”
“It’s the truth: we still do not know why this man did these horrible things … That’s why we have thorough investigations and trials in America,” Sullivan explained. “We have only one fixed piece of information regarding motives: the mass murderer’s confession to law enforcers: that he was a religious fundamentalist who was determined to comply with chastity and repeatedly failed, as is often the case.
