An Indianapolis 4 man allegedly killed after an argument over a $ 1,400 stimulus test

The Indianapolis man accused of fatally shooting four family members on Saturday allegedly argued with his daughter’s mother over cutting her stimulus test before the murder.

The Indianapolis Star, referring to court documents, reports that Malik Halfacre, 25, the suspect, allegedly told police they were “arguing because he wanted some of her stimulus control.” He allegedly said he fled the scene after the shooting with the woman’s wallet and car.

Halfacre is accused of setting fire to a house and killing Anthony Johnson, 35; Dequan Moore, 23; Eve Moore, 7; and Tomeeka Brown (44). ABC News reported that he was being held at Marion County Jail on four preliminary charges of murder. The country’s prosecutor’s office will make the final decision on what charges should be filed, the newspaper said.

The Indianapolis Police Department and the SWAT team were called to a home around 2 p.m. Saturday. Authorities began a search for Halfarce after he allegedly fled a home where the three adults and a child were found dead and a six-month-old baby girl. reported missing. The baby, identified as Malia Halfacre, was later found unharmed.

The newspaper reported that Halfacre should not have been at home. The report said that his daughter’s mother – who survived after she was shot in the back – received a restraining order in October. The Star reported that she led police to the home where the shooting took place.

Last week, Congress approved the striking $ 1.9 billion COVID-19 bill, which offers many Americans up to $ 1,400 in direct payments and extends the weekly benefits of $ 300 weekly emergency unemployment until early September.
