An Alabama man has allegedly been linked to Oath Keepers who were arrested for alleged involvement in the Capitol riot

A 33-year-old Alabama man with ties to the far-right military group the Oath Keepers was arrested Tuesday for his alleged role in the Capitol uprising, according to court documents.

Joshua James, of Arabia, Ala., Was charged with obstructing an official process and providing assistance, as well as violating restricted buildings or grounds.

“James and other oath-takers stormed the Capitol, forcing the Electoral College certification to come to a standstill,” the complaint read.

James is described in the document as wearing military equipment fitted with an Oath Keepers cloth, indicating his association with the group. Photos and videos taken after the Capitol storms also show James with a group of Oath Guards.

” The publicly available video shows that, after thy Capitol, James met with accused and unpaid individuals attached to the Oath Watchers, many of whom also stormed the Capitol, and some with whom James performed throughout 5 and 6 January 2021, ”reads the complaint.

James was also reportedly stationed at the Capitol during the riot. The same records show that he was in contact with other sworn guards, many of whom were charged last month.

The Oath Keepers are one of the groups being investigated for their conspiracy to try to stop the January 6 election certification.
