- Congress passed a new $ 1.9 billion COVID-19 bill on Wednesday.
- Americans who give birth at any point in 2021 may receive additional stimulus money.
- President Joe Biden is expected to sign the legislation on Friday.
Americans who give birth in 2021 will be eligible for an additional $ 1400 stimulus test as part of the new congressional assistance package COVID-19, according to a Democratic assistant familiar with emergency relief legislation.
President Joe Biden is expected to sign the ‘American Rescue Plan’ COVID-19 bill on Friday after the House passed it on Wednesday.
As part of the legal aid bill, any American earning up to $ 75,000 annually may be eligible for a $ 1400 stimulus check and couples earning up to $ 150,000 will receive the full $ 1,400 per person, including children.
The installments are limited to $ 160,000 for couples, which means that joint documents that earn more than that do not qualify for a check.
As with the previous stimulus packages, the new bill includes a provision that will allow each person giving birth in 2021 to receive an additional $ 1400 check for the baby. Once the baby is born, the parents can receive the additional $ 1400 after submitting their tax return in 2022, the Democratic assistant said. They are also eligible for a smaller amount if they earn just under $ 160,000.
Parents will also qualify for an extended child tax credit as a result of the legislation. For children 5 years and older, parents can get $ 3,600 per child. They can also receive $ 3,000 for children ages 6 to 17. Democrats strive to provide families with the amount in a lump sum during tax time or monthly checks distributed by the IRS.
Although IDP legislators rejected the bill because of a lack of two-party in drafting it, recent polls show that the legislation is popular among Americans in the political spectrum.
