Americans must be ‘furious’ about Biden’s immigration actions, ‘dismantling’ ICE: sheriff from Maryland

A Maryland sheriff on Monday warned of President Joe Biden’s immigration actions, arguing that “Americans will not be safe” and “immigrant communities will not be safe.”

“These types of laws lead to more victims of crime, more violent crime [and] gangs invading this country, ‘Sheruck, Frederick County, Chuck Jenkins, told Fox & Friends on Monday.

Jenkins also said Americans should be ‘furious’ about Biden for his immigration actions, arguing that President ICE “broke down” by “basically getting the agents up and running”.

Jenkins commented on an interview by an unnamed official who told The Washington Post on Sunday that the Biden government was “abolishing ICE without abolishing ICE”.

“The pendulum swing is so extreme,” the official continued. “It literally feels like we have gone from being able to fully enforcing our immigration laws until now being told not to enforce anything.”

According to U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials, U.S. immigration officials will review their approach to arrests and deportations under President Biden.

“US Citizenship and Immigration Services recently revoked two 2018 policy notes related to the issuance of notices appearing in the processing of immigration benefit requests,” USCIS spokesman Matthew Bourke said Sunday. “The Agency has been instructed to [Department of Homeland Security] memo issued on January 20th. “

This is the day Biden was inaugurated – and when he signed a number of executive orders, some of which reversed parts of former President Trump’s immigration policy. He strengthened the protection for recipients of the Defered Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and stopped work on the border wall.

The DHS change took effect on February 1, trying to stop removals for a hundred days, except under certain circumstances – before a judge closed the policy.

ANGEL DAD SLAM JOE BID’S IMMIGRATION ORDERS

The change in guidelines is aimed at encouraging non-citizens to submit supporters to immigration officials without fear of being deported immediately.

“There will be no enforcement,” Jenkins warned.

In addition, ICE officials will soon receive new guidance that will lead to fewer arrests and deportations while using more resources for national security issues, suspects in sex crimes, gang members, criminals and recent arrivals, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

The policy change would mean that officers would no longer seek deportation for immigrants convicted of drunk driving and assault, and would weaken the ICE’s ability to arrest wanted immigrants at correctional facilities.

ICE will stop pursuing deportations of convicted drug criminals, DUI drivers, low-level attackers, fraudsters and thieves, according to a memorandum from acting director Tae Johnson obtained by the Washington Post.

“One thing that is always considered in the deportations is the history of the crime, so regardless of the crime, regardless of the event, the crime that these people are going to wander through our streets with impunity,” Jenkins warned. “It’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Host Steve Doocy asked Jenkins why he believes Biden is doing this.

He replied that he believed that part of the reason was because the government was ‘angry with President Trump’.

“All the progress he has made over the past four years with stronger immigration enforcement is being completely undone and broken down,” Jenkins continued.
