American, United and Southwest Airlines are restarting their Boeing 737 Max jets due to Boeing’s problems with the electrical system with the model.
Boeing says the airlines involved must ensure that one of the parts of the aircraft’s electrical system is adequately grounded. The company is working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to resolve the issue.
American said in a statement that it would land 17 of the 24,737 Max aircraft they own, while United said it would land 16 of the 30,737 Max aircraft in their fleet. Southwest has said it will land 30 of the airline’s 58737 Max aircraft in its fleet containing more than 700 aircraft.
All 737 Max aircraft were grounded worldwide between March 2019 and November 2020 after two fatal accidents occurred and 346 people were killed on board the flights.
The airline manufacturer Boeing is not the only one under fire.
American Airlines and other companies have also come under fire from conservatives for supporting Major League Baseball (MLB)’s move to move the All-Star Game from Atlanta to Denver due to a Georgia state law requiring voters at the ballot box.
When Texas passed a similar bill in the State House, American Airlines released a statement clarifying its position on voter identity.
“The Texas Senate passed legislation earlier this morning with provisions restricting access to the vote. To clarify the position of American: we are strongly opposed to this bill and others like it, “the statement read.
“As a business in Texas, we must stand up for the rights of our team members and customers who call Texas home and respect the sacrifices made by generations of Americans to protect and expand the right to vote,” the statement continued. .
