‘American Idol’ contestant Cecil Ray Baker arrested for burglary after entering ex-girlfriend’s home

“American Idol” contestant Cecil Ray Baker has been arrested and charged with burglary.

Baker, 20, was arrested by Rockdale, Texas police on Saturday on a charge of burglary, the department confirmed to Fox News. The 19-year-old contestant was booked into Milam County Jail and released on a $ 15,000 bond.

Baker’s arrest comes days after he was dropped from the ABC singing competition series.

According to TMZ, referring to an affidavit, Baker is accused of entering the home of an ex-girlfriend named Mariah Lopez. He allegedly entered the house after she refused to see her daughter, who he believes is his.

Lopez claimed to police that she did not allow Baker into her home, but he was able to manage to tear open a locked door to gain access. Lopez claims police that Baker pushed her to the floor and punched her in the face with a palm heel before leaving the residence. He was arrested days later after allegedly moving to another town.

His arrest took place on April 17. TMZ reports the charge of housing is a second-degree offense in the state.

Baker’s sister allegedly told police she witnessed the incident and supported most of Lopez’s claims.

The “American Idol” contestant was eliminated during last week’s episode.

On Sunday, Lopez went to TikTok with a video outlining alleged abuse she experienced by Baker.

“My daughter and I are happy, safe and healthy,” reads the text from her TikTok video about a photo of her and her baby daughter.

“I’ve had enough. That’s why victims never come forward, but everyone tries so hard to break them down. #Dobetter #better,” she wrote.

In the video, Lopez shares alleged screenshots with a friend who claims to have previously seen Baker ‘lay hands on her’.

“There were times when it was hard to walk away,” reads a text about images of bruises on her body.

“The truth will finally come out. But in all honesty I just hope you decide to do better. I hope one day you change and hold yourself accountable for your own actions. I hope one day you can change and thrive in person. that you have to be, ”concludes Lopez.

A rep for the show did not immediately return Fox News’ request for comment. It is unclear at this time whether Baker has pleaded guilty or not guilty.
