An American man who allegedly smoked or took pot in Las Vegas faces three years in prison in the United Arab Emirates after traces of marijuana were found in his urine days later, according to Detained in Dubai, a website reported by his lawyer has been published.

“Lost a ton of weight, no shower, no food, nothing to drink since I came here, no sleep,” Clark said
“The United Arab Emirates’ arbitrary enforcement of laws and the lack of predictable legal results mean that Peter could potentially face years in prison for smoking marijuana legally. Even if he is innocent, he could be dragged through a slow and expensive legal process,” he said. said Clark’s attorney, Radha Stirling. .
Clark claims he did not bring any drugs to Dubai, nor did he buy or buy drugs.

He is not the first Westerner to suffer similar charges.
British veteran Andy Neal spent more than a year in jail before being released in 2019. Another Briton, Connor Clements, was arrested in Dubai after taking medical marijuana in the UK.
