The project was adapted from Erika L. Sanchez’s novel for young adults in 2017, to Julia Reyes, the teenage daughter of first-generation Mexican immigrants.

She regularly clashes with her traditional parents and her sister Olga, who is very much in the shape of a ‘perfect Mexican daughter’.

The family is turned upside down when Olga dies in an accident, and it is up to the rebellious Julia to keep the family together.
