AMD has reportedly launched its upcoming Radeon RX 6700 XT in different flavors based on the Navi 22 GPU. This, along with the rumors of the Radeon RX 6700, has been posted by Coreteks highlighting what we have heard so far.
AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT to get two variants based on Navi 22 GPU – RX 6700 to be launched in April?
The details are mostly related to the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, while information about the Radeon RX 6700, RX 6900 XTX and RX 6950 XT is also provided (as a mere speculation). Coreteks says that AMD is working on two variants of the Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card. Both have the Navi 22 GPU, but there is a variation in how each GPU is set up. It seems like it all boils down to returns and AMD does not want to waste any GPU, so they can follow this route.
The state-of-the-art variant of the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT features a 230G TGP and will be part of various designs designed with factory overclocking and premium cooling. The second class part has a TGP of 189W and will only be used for reference designs. The clock speeds of the card are said to be around 2.5 – 2.6 GHz, which is surprisingly high, but not unexpected, as we have seen similar numbers in previous leaks. Both cards contain 12 GB of GDDR6 memory and will be launched between March 15 and 19, although recent rumors have highlighted a March 18 launch date for Navi 22 GPUs.
The website states that AMD will use the base price of the second part as a starting MSRP, but the higher-end variant of the Radeon RX 6700 XT is going to cost a huge premium over the reference model. The website predicts a 20-25% performance increase over the Radeon RX 5700 XT for the RX 6700 XT, while offering a large memory size.
On the other hand, we have the Radeon RX 6700 with a cut-off Navi 22 GPU SKU which will be a different variant than the XT / XTX models used on the RX 6700 XT. The Radeon RX 6700 features 6 GB of GDDR6 memory (also mentioned in recent leaks) which clocks in at 16 Gbps and reportedly launches in April.
