Amber Heard’s charity valve could turn the tide

Johnny Depp’s camp thinks the disputed star could eventually get a courtroom – because his ex, Amber Heard, allegedly failed to donate money from their divorce to charity.

When ex-wife Heard pledged $ 7 million in their divorce agreement in 2017, she promised to donate the cash to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

But on Wednesday, it came out in court that Heard never handed over the money to the charity.

Now sources close to Depp say the revelation could be to his advantage by appealing to another of his many legal battles.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star has sued the British newspaper The Sun after it was branded a “wifebeater” for allegedly attacking Heard during their marriage. He lost the case in July last year.

But he is now trying to appeal the verdict.

Heard was a key witness in the original case, and a judge ruled that the allegations against Depp in the article were “substantially true.”

But sources close to Depp’s team told us this week: ‘The judge thought she was this wonderful person who stands up for humanity’, due to her alleged generosity, ‘ [about the donations]. ”

At a hearing in London on Thursday to decide whether Depp could appeal, his lawyer called the claim for the donation of the money a ‘calculated and manipulative lie’.

Sun attorneys said Heard did not lie, that she had “already made a number of payments” and had just not been handed over.

It also came to light in court that Depp had sent a text to a friend at the time, saying, ‘No, she’s not giving to anyone anymore! Thanks f – k she’s gone !!! Makes me sick to think of how hard I tried to make it work … Now … Honestly, I would not touch that finger whore with a Hazmat suit! What a foam. I hate her !!! ”

Reps for Heard and Depp did not return to us.
