Amazon’s first TV is only available in India

If you want a first-party fire party experience, there are many ways to get one. But having pre-installed dedicated TVs with Fire OS, Amazon prefers to work with partners through its Fire TV Edition program, rather than releasing its own TVs.

That changed this week when the company released two sets under its AmazonBasics brand in India. These are 55- and 50-inch models that are about $ 480 and $ 410, respectively. Typically, this is about what you would expect from TVs in the price range. Both have 4K LED screens that support HDR 10 and HLG, as well as Dolby Vision. They also have an Alexa remote and Fire OS 7 – although apparently not the new version of the company’s Fire TV interface.
