The clinic will distribute the vaccine to healthcare professionals, first responders and people aged 65 and over. The state’s goal is to vaccinate 45,000 people a day.

The technology giant will work in partnership with the Virginia Mason Health System, where residents will have to register and make an appointment.

The announcement comes after Amazon on Thursday offered itself as an ally to President Joe Biden in its bid to spread coronavirus vaccines.

It also comes after Washington state officials turned to the private sector – to tap the coffee giant Starbucks – to help them increase the state’s COVID-19 vaccination capacity earlier this week.

Inslee’s office did not immediately return a request for comment Thursday.
