Nintendo ranks eight out of the top 10 in Amazon’s US chart.
As the longest year in history comes to an end, we see a series of lists appear. These lists usually shine a light on the best performing games of the year on Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony platforms.
One infallible sign of how well a game is selling is online retailer Amazon’s bestseller of the year, something that seems to be all in its final order. Taken from Amazon US and Amazon UK, is this year’s list.

The US graph shows how dominant the Nintendo Switch was this year, with a total of eight of Amazon’s top 10 games appearing on the hybrid console. Cyberpunk’s highly controversial PS4 version and Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II are the only outsiders to beat the top 10.

The British list tells a slightly different story. Nintendo still has a majority, which is shared with Sony this time around, as both companies occupy four places in the list. As expected, Microsoft takes the last two. FIFA 21, which has always been incredibly popular in the UK, occupies two of the top five spots, with Nintendo taking the other three. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is one of this year’s surprise entries. The contest topped the UK Christmas seller table for the first time in the history of the franchise and has two places on Amazon’s top 10 list this year.
In addition to Amazon, Steam recently released its titles with the best revenue of 2020. This list is slightly different from Amazon’s list, but Steam is a digital platform. The best profits included Red Dead Redemption II, Between us and Val guys.
