Amazon offers its resources for vaccinating the new Biden administration

Amazon is the second largest employer in the United States with more than 800,000 employees and has a massive transportation and logistics network that is reached throughout the United States. In a letter addressed directly to newly inaugurated President Joe Biden, Amazon offers its resources to help with Biden’s goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans during its first 100 days in office.

In addition, we are willing to leverage our operations, information technology and communication skills and expertise to assist your administration’s vaccination efforts. Our scale enables us to immediately make a significant impact in the fight against COVID-19, and we are ready to assist you in this endeavor.

Amazon has a licensed third-party healthcare provider that is ready to deliver vaccines to its 800,000 essential employees as soon as they become available. This includes workers at Amazon fulfillment centers, AWS data centers and employees of the Whole Foods Market.

The vaccination of all Amazon employees will help nearly 1% of Biden’s end goal of 100 million Americans, but the company’s massive industry scale and logistics could help the U.S. government physically reach the vaccines in the United States.

Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are currently very limited. An estimated 54.3 million doses of the vaccine were administered worldwide, of which 17.2 million were in the United States. In the last days, a measure of 912 497 shots were fired. All these numbers are from 20 January as per Bloomberg. You can check the progress of the vaccine here.
