Amazon’s Echo Show 10 is a neat device for the ability to move with you while streaming videos and calling friends and family. But for a clever show of which the whole reason to be its support for these uses, the Echo Show was missing a great app that was universally used during the pandemic: Zoom.

When Gizmodo die Echo Show 10 A spokesman at the time said support for Zoom “would come soon.” The support finally arrived, which made a good device pretty good. Customers with the third generation Echo Show 10 can now request Alexa to join Zoom or Amazon Chime meetings through commands such as, “Alexa, join my meeting,” “Alexa, join my Zoom meeting,” or “Alexa, join my Amazon Chime meeting.”

The Echo Show 10 can start hands-free meetings once your calendar is linked through the Alexa app (this is also how support for some other services like music apps works). Amazon says that its voice assistant “will automatically start your scheduled meeting hands-free without requiring your meeting ID or password – just confirm the title of the meeting you want to join.”

Zoom was a major blind spot on the device, given how it was intended to be used, so support on the Echo Show 10 is welcome. However, the only other major flaw of the device was support for a larger number of streaming applications.

For example, a dedicated YouTube app will be a minimum addition to the current limited range of streaming apps from the Echo Show 10, which includes Food Network Kitchen, Happy TV, Hulu, NBC, Netflix, Prime Video, Redbull TV and Tubi. . Currently it is accessible via a web browser, but a dedicated app is useful for things like stopping where you left off on a video.

At the very least, you can now call your family using the closing video –conference app of choice.
