Amazing Super Mario Art combines Bowser’s anger with Yoshi’s Island

Earlier this week, Nintendo pulled the curtain in the latter half of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Wrath, and the new mode definitely attracts the attention of fans. Bowser’s Fury will see that Mario and Bowser Jr. forced to work together to stop a Kaiju-inspired metamorphosis that has taken control of Bowser. Nintendo has released an incredible work of art from the two characters starring the (much bigger) villain, and one fan decided to take the picture and recreate it in the style of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. While Nintendo’s original art of confrontation was already amazing, the pixel art recording of @GBrothersStudio on Twitter could be even more impressive!

The art of @GBrothersStudio can be found below.

Released in 1995, Yoshi’s Island quickly became one of the most beloved titles on the Super Nintendo. The game was completely different from the original Super Mario World, but his beautiful art style made it one of the most striking Nintendo games ever. Bowser Jr. was only introduced to the franchise in 2002 Super Mario Sunshine, but the character fits really well with the Yoshi’s Island aesthetically, as @GBrothersStudio clearly shows. Yoshi’s Island offered mostly brighter spots, but the game did include darker spots, and @GBrothersStudio channels it well. This is not the kind of mash-up that most Mario fans would expect, but the whole thing looks great!

When it appears on Switch, Bowser se Anger is presented with another Mario classic: Super Mario 3D World. The game, which was released on Wii U in 2013, has an isometric perspective and levels that can be enjoyed with a single player or in a group of four. The game allows players to choose between Mario, Peach, Toad, Luigi and Rosalina, although last week’s trailer for Bowser’s Fury led to speculation that a sixth playable character could be added in the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Wrath will be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch on February 12th. You can see all our previous coverage of the game here.
