In Pennsylvania, the number of people vaccinated against the coronavirus continued to rise, while cases and deaths remained relatively stable.

In Allegheny County, there was a slight increase in new cases and hospitalizations on Thursday. Westmoreland County saw a decrease in cases and one new death. And the state as a whole sees cases and deaths remain stable, with hospitalizations down again.

Allegheny County on Thursday reported 296 additional cases of coronavirus (180 confirmed cases) and no new coronavirus deaths.

Although no new deaths were reported, the province said three of the deaths reported Wednesday were residents of other provinces and that it was removed from the Allegheny County number.

The death toll in Allegheny County due to covid-19 stands at 1,735.

According to state data, 161 residents of Allegheny County are being hospitalized for covid (four as of Wednesday), 40 of them are in intensive care units and 20 of them are in ventilators.

The new cases of coronavirus range from 10 months to 92 years with a mean age of 35 years. The age groups of the recently reported cases – 128 men and 168 women – are:

In Westmoreland County, there were 66 additional cases and one new death reported Thursday.

With the 66 additional cases (38 confirmed, 28 likely), the total number of cases in Westmoreland County is 27,890 (19,525 confirmed, 8,365 likely) since the first cases were reported last year.

And the additional reported deaths related to covid brings the total number of covid deaths in the country to 692.

Pennsylvania

According to state and provincial data, more than 3.1 million people (24.9% of the population) received at least one dose of a vaccine, and more than 1.5 million were fully vaccinated (12.1% of the residents).

These numbers include both data from the Department of Health in Pennsylvania and the Department of Health in Philadelphia, which keep separate records regarding vaccinations in the state.

According to the state’s data, the number of residents admitted to hospital due to the virus is 1486, compared to Wednesday 14.

The state also adjusted its death toll. The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Thursday added only 17 deaths to its total, despite the fact that there were another 36 deaths in March and one in February. This is because the state also made adjustments to the mortality rates of previous months, and it shrank to 20: January (-2), December (-7), November (-2), October (-1), June (- 2) and May (-6).

Thursday was the one year since the first covid death was reported in the state. The patient was a Northampton County adult and was treated in a hospital.

The state also reported 3,126 additional cases of coronavirus, which is the highest daily total of the month.

The state’s seven-day average of cases is at 2,638 cases, and the seven-day total cases are 18,465, which is 9% higher than last Thursday’s figures.

The total number of cases of coronavirus in the state is 976,847.
