The Charge Rifle is an underrated sharpshooter in Apex Legends. If you usually skip it for something a little easier to use, you might be interested in our guide – as it’s probably the most powerful sniper in the game besides the Kraber.

You heard us right. The Charge Rifle is incredibly good, but it does require some practice. It does not shoot like most Snipers, given the large charge, but if you can land your shots, you can pack a pack of punches.

It has many features that most other guns do not have. Here’s all you need to know about the Charge Rifle so you can use it effectively abroad next time.

Apex Legends Charge Rifle Damage Stats

The Charge Rifle is one of the hardest hitting rifles in the game. After all, it’s a sharpshooter. However, there are some advantages to its competitors. The Charge Rifle damages legs 100% and also hits like a truck.

Here are the numbers you need to know:

Body part Damage
Head 56 (1.25x)
Body 45
Bene 45

With a shooting speed of 30 RPM (0.5 shots per second), the Charge Rifle gives a DPS of 28 for head shots and 22.5 for body shots, and that is when you hit the last bar.

It may seem low, but since it hits hard, you only need two or three shots to take down an enemy from everywhere.

The Charge Rifle is not like any other Sniper in Apex Legends. In the right hands there must be fear.

Best Charge Rifle Attachments

The Charge Rifle has only two sets of attachments: optics and stocks. However, you can equip almost any range in the game on the Sniper. Here is a list of the suitable optics:

  • 1x Holo
  • 1x HCOG “Classic”
  • 2x HCOG “Bruiser”
  • 1x-2x variable Holo
  • 6x sharpener
  • 3x HCOG “Ranger”
  • 2x-4x variable AOG
  • 4x-8x variable sharpshooter
  • 4x-10x digital sniper threat

We recommend using as large a scale as possible, so the 4x-8x variable and the 4x-10x digital threat are perfect.

As for sniper stocks, just look for a purple one. And remember, if it is not on the ground, make sure it is manufactured in rotation!

Use the Charge Rifle’s Hit Panel

The Charge Rifle is the only gun in Apex Legends that is ‘hitscan’. This means that when you click, you will immediately do damage. Although it takes a while before the full damage goes through, the initial ticks – three damage each up to a maximum of 45 – can still be a game changer.

If you are firing from a long distance, use this hit panel. This will be a test of your detection, but it’s much easier than trying to assess the fall of bullets. It is also completely accurate during hip fire, although you must first shake before firing.

The Charge Rifle is incredible for inflicting damage to charge Evo Shields early.

Use the Charge Rifle to farm early with Evo Shields

Although you can take the Charge Rifle with you the entire game, it is the best in the early game. Why? If you can strengthen a hold in the zone early in the game, you can damage your Evo Shields with the Charge Rifle.

By handing it over to a mobile legend like Octane, Wraith or Loba, they can fetch enemies, get Red armor, drop it off with the rest of your teammates, and go on another expedition. This allows you to prepare for battles in the late game without risking too much.

You’ll probably want to hand over the Charge Rifle for another gun in the late game – a care package, or maybe loot from an enemy death box. Once you use the Red Shields on it, you are prepared to tackle any group and become the champion.

However, if you have enough confidence with the sharpshooter and your shell, feel free to use it late in the game. Be sure to swap the sight for something closer, such as a 2x or 3x HCOG.
