All about Apple’s rumored iPad Pro update of 2021

We’re already hearing rumors about the 202 iPad Pro update. The most important change is probably the mini-LED display technology that will appear on the 12.9-inch model. As rumors suggest that an Apple event will be held on March 23, here’s all we know about the impending iPad Pro update …

The fourth generation of the iPad Pro was launched in March 2020 with minor upgrades. Apple announced the device with a press release. The most important changes were the LiDAR scanner, which was first introduced in an Apple product, and the A12Z chip, a variant from the A12 series. The most exciting news was the launch of the Magic Keyboard with a trackpad, which also works on the third generation iPad Pro (and now the fourth generation iPad Air).

For the 2021 iPad Pro update, we can expect new features, though Macotakara said in January that the model will not have a newer design. Rumors are currently circulating that Apple will hold an event on March 23, and that could be when the new iPad Pro is officially announced.

Reports still indicate that the new iPad Pro will be launched in the first quarter of 2021 DigiTimes, the mini-LED technology is the major change in this year’s iPad line.

Right now, all iPads have LCD screens, which require taillights. With the introduction of mini-LEDs, dramatically smaller LEDs are being used, offering much greater control over localized backlighting, enabling higher brightness and deeper blacks. The combination increases the contrast ratio and uses less power.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is likely to be the first Apple product with mini-LED technology. Actually, only the Apple Watch and iPhones use an OLED screen. Other devices, including the iPad and MacBook, use an LCD screen. The introduction of mini-LED display technology on the fifth-generation iPad Pro offers the possibility for more Apple products to use this feature, such as the rumored 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro.

It’s important to note that only the 12.9-inch iPad Pro model will receive the mini-LED display technology, with the 11-inch model coming somewhere in the future. According to several reports and analysts, this new iPad Pro has a chip based on the A14, the same processor available on the fourth generation iPad Air and the iPhone 12 series.

It is unclear whether the chip will be called A14X or A14Z, but it will work better than the previous model.

The iPad Pro may also receive a minor upgrade on its cameras, such as Smart HDR 3 and Dolby Vision recording technology, which was introduced with the iPhone 12.

New Apple Pencil and Release Date

Last week, a new Apple Pencil leak appeared on the Internet. With a sleek design, it could be a new accessory for the iPad Pro. Although this Apple Pencil looks similar to the first generation model, we can not see a Lightning port, so it may mean that it is for the newer iPads.

Remember that the second generation Apple Pencil is charged when paired with the iPad Pro model (third generation or newer) and iPad Air (for now fourth generation).

The Magic Keyboard is likely to remain the same, and there are no rumors to suggest a MagSafe accessory for the iPad series anytime soon.

If Apple launches the fifth generation iPad Pro at an event on March 23, it could be available on Friday, March 26. It’s unclear whether Apple will add new colors to this iPad, new storage options or 5G features. The iPad Pro currently comes in Silver and Space Gray, 128 GB to 1 TB storage, and with LTE connectivity.
