Alex Trebek’s daughter Nicky Trebek honors her father one day after Danger! host’s last episode aired.
“Danger! Forever!” Nicky wrote in a Facebook post, which she captured on a screenshot and posted on her Instagram account on Saturday. In the caption, she adds: “You were extraordinary !!!” and the hashtag #wemissyoudad.
In her Instagram stories, Nicky continued to celebrate her father, who was the host Danger! since 1984, even after his cancer diagnosis was announced in March 2019. Nicky shared a video montage of her father working on the Danger! set, along with a shot of Alex pumping his fist in the air as he stepped off the stage.
Alex, 80, died of pancreatic cancer on November 8 from stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
The Friday episode features a series of tributes to the beloved host. A montage of funny moments includes Trebek making jokes, drawing lines and even walking into the studio without pants, Yahoo Entertainment reported earlier. The program ends with the tracks of Alex saying, “So long!” through the years, before you walked off stage. A final message reads “Dedicated to Alex Trebek, forever in our hearts, always our inspiration.”
As early as November, the program announced that several interim hosts would take over the duties as Trebek’s pre-recorded episodes aired. Ken Jennings, who Danger! champion now serving as advisory producer will be one of the hosts as well as Katie Couric.
