Over the weekend, it was revealed that former MLB star Alex Rodriguez and billionaire Marc Lore will become the new owners of Minnesota Timberwolves. The strong duo have earned exclusive bargaining rights over the next 30 days and are expected to conclude an agreement with current Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor.

While Rodriguez wants to take control of the NBA franchise, several players from Timberwolves, including star big man Karl-Anthony Towns, are on board with the former New York Yankees third baseman taking control. However, newcomer Anthony Edwards is not so familiar with Rodriguez. In fact, Edwards does not even know who Rodriguez is.

“I do not know who it is,” Edwards said when asked about Rodriguez taking over the team. “I know he’s going to be the owner. But I know nothing about baseball. ‘

After Edwards says he does not know who Rodriguez is, A-Rod shared an Instagram post about the situation and said, “Hello Anthony. I’m Alex!” Edwards shared the post on his Instagram story and said ‘what good is my guy’ with a laughing emoji.

Before Edwards was scolded, the overall first number in 2020 was just 19 years old and A-Rod has been retired since 2016. In addition, the Timberwolves newcomer admits that he is not a baseball fan. Although A-Rod is a name that many athletes know, he may not watch a lot of sports off the track.

Even though he does not know now who A-Rod is, Edwards will get to know him in the coming years when Rodriguez owns the team. According to a report by Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, Rodriguez and Lore will take full control of the Timberwolves from 2023. The two will also own the Minnesota Lynx from the WNBA as part of the deal.
