The twins agreed to a $ 6.25 million one-year deal with veteran reliever Alex Colomé, a source told Mark Feinsand, MLB.com. The club did not confirm the agreement.

Colomé will pay $ 20 million in 2021 with a mutual option for $ 5.5 million in 2022 or buy out a $ 1.25 million, a source told Feinsand.

The 32-year-old Colomé could play the narrower role in Minnesota, after Taylor Rogers and Sergio Romo split the closing commitments in 2020. Rogers stays at the club, but Romo is a free agent.

Colomé scored an ERA of 0.81 last season with a whip of 0.94 and 12 times in 22 1/3 overs for the White Sox, which closed Liam Hendriks closer to a four-year deal. The right-handed Colomé has achieved 138 savings since the start of 2016, and was in third place in the MLB series behind Kenley Jansen and Edwin Díaz during that period.

Colomé recorded an ERA of 2.95 with 385 rebounds and 140 runs in 424 overs during eight major league seasons with the Rays, Mariners and White Sox.
