Alec Baldwin amused by Gillian Anderson’s double accents

Alec Baldwin has something to say about Gillian Anderson using her American accent as she accepted a Golden Globe Sunday for ‘The Crown’ – a move apparently confusing for fans of her British work.

“Change accent? This sounds … fascinating, ”Baldwin (62), tweeted on Wednesday.

He was just one of many who discussed Anderson’s normal Yank voice, and some could hardly believe that the 52-year-old native and former Chicago X-Files star was even American.

‘Just discovering my thoughts @GillianA does not really have an English accent in real life, ” wrote one fan, with another addition, “I feel so uncomfortable knowing that Gillian Anderson is American and not British.”

Anderson had plenty of time to hone her British accent, as she had lived in London for a few years and had said in the past that she regularly slipped back and forth between accents.

“Even telephonically, my accent will change,” she told the British newspaper The Telegraph in 2009.

Baldwin’s decision to address Anderson’s accent is possibly an attempt by the actor to slyly defend his wife, Hilaria Baldwin.

The 37-year-old mother of six was called out in December for her erratic Spanish accent shortly before she recognized her real name Hillary. She was also raised in Boston, towards Mallorca, Spain, because his people deliberately made people believe.

More recently, the couple shocked the public when they welcomed child number six just five months after a son, Eduardo, joined their offspring.
