Alamodome turns into a free mass of COVID vaccine from Monday, the city says

At present, according to the state, the guidelines only allow people who fall under phases 1A and 1B to receive the vaccine at the Alamodome, San Antonio city officials announced in a press release on Friday.

Phase 1A includes frontline health workers and residents at long-term care facilities. Phase 1B includes people over 65 or people 16 or older with a chronic medical condition who are elevated by COVID-19 for serious illnesses.

“The vaccination site at the Alamodome is an important step forward in our fight to eradicate the pandemic,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg. “This site will speed up the vaccination process and help us provide San Antonio residents with protection as soon as possible.”

The venue can vaccinate about 1,500 people a day and has a personal and messy option.

Appointments are required and can be made by visiting covid19.sanantonio.gov/vaccine or by calling 311 and selecting option 8. The registration will open on Saturday at 09:00, reads the release. The Alamodome Vaccine Clinic is available from Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 20:00

Parking is available at the South Parking Lot, Montana St. 100.
