Green Bay Packers rookie AJ Dillon introduced himself to a national audience with a breakout performance against the Tennessee Titans Sunday night at a snowy Lambeau Field.
Dillon, the Packers’ second round, rushed 21 times for a career-high 124 yards and his first two touchdowns in the NFL during Green Bay’s 40-14 victory over the Titans. His first score comes down on the fourth and covers 30 yards, which put the Packers up 33-14 in the second half. His second was a truck moment over a defensive line on his way to the end zone, which caused the dagger in the fourth quarter.
The victim of the rookie’s destruction in the late game was the defensive end of Titans’ Matt Dickerson, who was run over in Dillon’s path as he tried to throw a block near the goal line.
According to Pro Football Focus, Dillon broke nine dives, averaging more than 4.4 yards after contact, and contributed seven runs that ended in an attempt or first shot.
Dillon became the first Packers rookie to rush at least 120 yards and score at least two quick tackles in a game in team history. He is only the 12th rookie in the NFL since 2015 to run for 120 yards and score at least two rushing touchdowns in one game.
