Indonesian navy divers found the wreckage of flight SJ 182 on Sunday after finding a signal from the fuselage of the Boeing jet. A team recovered human remains and parts of the site’s aircraft.
Sriwijaya Air Flight 182 crashed into the waters northwest of the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, shortly after takeoff on Saturday afternoon. The flight crashed under the Thousand Islands, a popular tourist destination among Indonesians. The flight was en route to Pontianak, a city on the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo.
