Lady Whistledown is a positive agog today – and with good reason: the American Film Institute called it Bridgerton one of 2020’s Top 10 television series.
Chris Van Dusen’s hugely popular period drama was one of four Netflix shows to make AFI’s coveted list and join the coveted limited series. The Queen’s Gambit and Unorthodox, as well as The crown‘s Charles and Di theme fourth season.
Season 2 of Disney +’s The Mandalorian made the cut (after being beaten in season 1), as well as Apple TV +’s new comedy directed by Jason Sudeikis. Ted Lasso.
AFI’s choices also included AMCs Better name Saul, Showtime’s The Good Lord Bird, HBOs Lovecraft Country and FXs Mrs. America.
This year’s AFI Awards will be held on 26 February.
