The Director-General of Migration, Enrique García, revealed that members of this body were undergoing a nocturnal operation in two Commendador municipal hotels, in Elías Piña with 134 undocumented Haitians intending to enter the country irregularly.
The group is integrated with 36 men, 45 women and 15 children who are accommodated in the two small centers.
García explained that the operation was carried out by members of the Migration Intelligence Board and the National Intelligence Board, including the Pedrín and Los Tres Hermanos hotels.
In addition, these investigative bodies are receiving confidential information in the sense that in their homes a group of undocumented Haitians are hiding in the country.
With respect to operations, Enrique García advised that the General Directorate of Migration should take all the weight of those against whom he apprehended the treatment of persons at the frontier points of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
“It is an inhumane, unacceptable practice” added. Encourage the continuation of migration, search and detention operations for foreigners who are in a state of irregularity, not only in the frontier zone, but in all countries.
There are all types of vehicles, such as trucks, buses and motorbikes, which are used in the traffic of undocumented extras, and why their owners pay a lot to recoverers.
García dijo that the detainees were conducted at the Center of Acid of the General Directorate of Migration and will be deported in the near future.
