Adrian Peterson has done a lot in his NFL career, but one thing he has not done yet is play in a Super Bowl. He would like to sign with a team that he says will be in the Super Bowl again next year.
That’s why Peterson, who is a free agent in March after playing on a one-year deal with the Lions in 2020, says he would like to play for the Buccaneers.
“It’s definitely going to be something I’m interested in,” Peterson told TMZ.com. ‘If they want me to be a part of it, I’ll definitely be a part of it. Because I’m definitely trying to add a trophy to my resume. ”
Peterson played for Bucs coach Bruce Arians in Arizona earlier in 2017, and he said he also plays with Tom Brady.
“Playing with Tom Brady is tempting in itself,” Peterson said.
Peterson’s comments point to the way big backs can lure players to sign with a team. Whether the Buccaneers even want the soon-to-be 36-year-old Peterson remains to be seen, but there is no doubt that many players want to play for Brady and the Bucs, which is a major advantage for Tampa Bay in a year when a declining salary ceiling means that many free agencies have to pay with less money than they would normally earn, and may decide to give the best chance of winning in 2021, and wait until 2022 to prioritize the best contract.
