Activision Blizzard has confirmed the successor to the team-based shooter Ear Watch will not show up this year.
The announcement was made by the company’s chief financial officer and president of emerging businesses, Dennis M. Durkin, during the fourth-quarter earnings call.
“Our prospects do not include Diablo IV or Overwatch 2 started in 2021. “
Overwatch 2 is focused on implementing more PvE and story content. Blizzard said earlier that original Overwatch players will have full access to the PvP content of the sequel.
“Current Overwatch players will play side by side with Overwatch 2 players in PvP multiplayer; they will also be able to play Overwatch 2 heroes and cards.“
Overwatch 2 was originally confirmed on the Nintendo Switch along with several other platforms on BlizzCon 2019.
