The ‘Soho Karen’, who allegedly accused the 14-year-old son of jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold of wiping her iPhone in a hotel, had two issues with the law last year – one for public drunkenness and ‘ another for drunk driving, according to a report.
Miya Ponsetto, 22, who identified NYPD sources to The Post as the woman captured on camera and Keyon Harrold Jr. falsely accused, was arrested on Feb. 28 in Beverly Hills for public drunkenness, reports Daily Mail citing police reports and court records.
The case is still pending and according to the delivery, she is due to appear in court on January 28.
And on May 28, she was crowned for drunk driving near Calabasas, a city in Los Angeles County where Kim Kardashian owns a sprawling estate, the Daily Mail said.
Ponsetto has been charged with four offenses – two for driving under the influence of alcohol, one for driving with a suspended license and one for illegal use of a driver’s license, according to the report.
In September, she did not plead guilty to the DUI charge. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Jan. 14.
Ponsetto was also nominated in August 2019 in a civil case related to an eviction due to non-payment.
Photos posted online with Ponsetto’s name match the young woman who approached the boy at the Arlo Hotel in the Soho area of Manhattan.
“No, I’m not letting him walk away with my phone!” she shouted at one point, according to a video clip posted by Elder Harrold online.
NYPD detective Rodney Harrison this week tweeted a montage of surveillance video clips that also contain a shot of the woman’s face with the word “WANTED” underneath in red letters.
He said the NYPD was “asking the public for help in locating the suspect in this video”, which he said falsely accused an innocent 14-year-old teenager of stealing her cellphone, and then physically assaulting him. and fled from the place. ”
The woman told CNN on Tuesday that she was “concerned” about the fallout – but maintained her claim that she had been assaulted during the incident.
She said that when she realized that her iPhone was missing, she demanded to watch surveillance videos from the hotel portal – and then everyone in the foyer asked to ’empty their pockets’ before heading to Keyon Jr.
“Then everything got a little more serious,” she told CNN in a telephone interview.
Then she attacked the teenager and his father, who was defending his son against the accusations.
Elder Harrold said the woman scratched and tackled the boy during a struggle that was not completely trapped in the cut.
He said an Uber driver arrived shortly after the protest with the woman’s missing phone.
The NYPD said it intended to hit the woman with attacks that could include assault, grand robbery or attempted robbery, while Mayor Bill de Blasio described the onslaught as a ‘simple and straightforward’ racism.
