Sen. Lindsey Graham predicted Sunday that if GOP votes to convict former President Trump in his Senate trial conviction, his daughter-in-law Lara Trump will give a head start in the North Carolina Senate race.
“The biggest winner of this whole indictment is Lara Trump,” Graham of South Carolina told Fox News Sunday.

Burr, who said he would not seek re-election in 2022, was among seven Republican senators who voted with Democrats to condemn Trump for inciting his supporters on January 6 to storm the Capitol.
But the vote of 57-43 came too little because it needed 67 senators to convict.
“The evidence is compelling that President Trump is guilty of inciting an uprising against an equal branch of government and that the charge is rising to the level of high crimes and crimes,” Burr said in a statement on Saturday. “That’s why I voted to be found guilty.”
Lara Trump, the wife of former president’s son Eric Trump, is reportedly entering the North Carolina race in 2022.
She was born in Wilmington, NC, and is studying at North Carolina State University.
Trump, 38, was a replacement for her father-in-law’s presidential campaigns in 2016 and 2020.
A December 2022 poll in the North Carolina race in 2022 shows that Lara Trump would be an immediate frontrunner in the Republican election.
She led former government Pat McCrory by 24 to 23 percent among Republicans and Republican-leaning voters, according to the BUSR / UNLV Lee Business School poll – but 39 percent were undecided.
