According to Tripadvisor, the top ten beaches in the US

Apparently, not all beaches are the same.

Or at least, that’s what Tripadvisor’s updated ‘Top 25 Beaches’ list suggests, which ranks some of the most popular sea destinations around the world.

According to a press release issued Tuesday, the travel planning and evaluation website decided based on the user’s responses left on Tripadvisor.com over the past twelve months.

4. Wailea Beach – Wailea, Hawaii

Tripadvisor says its users wrote that Wailea Beach offers breathtaking views of the Maui coast. ‘The most important activities that visitors participated in were sea turtle tours.

5. Cannon Beach – Cannon Beach, Oregon

Tripadvisor says its users like Cannon Beach’s tidal pools and sea creatures that become visible during low tide at Haystack Rock. For this reason, guided day trips on the beach were the most popular activity.

Napili Beach – Lahaina, Hawaii

Tripadvisor says its users have praised Napili Beach for its natural reef where marine life is easily visible. Whale watching from Lahaina Harbor was another important activity for this Hawaiian beach.

7. Ogunquit Beach – Ogunquit, Maine

Tripadvisor says users were impressed during high tide with Ogunquit Beach, which reportedly allows visitors to walk or swim hundreds of feet while the water is just waist-high. Reviewers also enjoyed exploring Perkins Cove, a small fishing community with beautiful views and shopping opportunities.

8. Wai’anapanapa State Park – Hana, Hawaii

Tripadvisor says its users like the beach at Wai’anapanapa State Park because of its ‘otherworldly’ black sand. Tours through the previously volcanic land are an important activity for beach goers.

9. Madeira Beach – Madeira Beach, Florida

Tripadvisor says that users of Madeira Beach like it because of its flat terrain and walkability. The beach is also very popular because of the food options.

10. Kailua Beach Park – Kailua, Hawaii

According to Tripadvisor, users in Kailua Beach Park had ‘less crowds’ and a ‘good park’. The most popular activity here was a guided full-day tour of the nearby Mokulua Islands.

While the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urges people to avoid unnecessary travel during the pandemic, the health agency is not against beach visits.

Instead, the CDC advises Americans to consider carefully before visiting a public beach. The safety protocols the agency recommends include wearing face masks, cleaning hands regularly, and engaging in social distances while avoiding large gatherings.
